Areas of Practice for Stephen D. Wicks Law Office

In my practice we have completed 80 or more jury trials, first as a prosecutor and special prosecutor in Blair County starting in 1978, then as a criminal defense lawyer, and for the last 46 years as a civil trial lawyer. Our civil jury trials started in 1985 and have included cases for defamation, breach of confidentiality, discrimination, malpractice, automobile accidents, unlawful terminations and wage disputes, and breach of contract disputes.

Non-jury trials have included estate and will contests, property disputes, whistleblower cases, veteran’s preferences cases, employment and contract issues, and mental health and intellectual disability law cases. We have also conducted commercial arbitration cases for discrimination and breach of contract claims. We have been fortunate to be successful in most of these trials, whether initially or upon appeal. Our Practice Area page lists the legal topics on which we may provide experienced counsel.

Founded in 1977 with over 46 years of experience!

Non-Litigation Services

In the non-litigation arena, we handle business acquisitions and sales, contract negotiation and drafting for commercial, employment, and business formations, and estate planning. I also have a special interest in mental health, intellectual disability, guardianship, and drug and alcohol issues arising from many years representing the Blair County mental health and intellectual disability system and private non-profit providers. Check our blog for the latest news and information on these and other topics.
